Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix Leaderboard Bug

February 1st, 2009

Man this is frustrating. The best thing about Street fighter 2 was always kicking the arse out of someone, and measuring yourself against your peers. Well it seems there’s a massive bug with the leaderboard system on the XBLA version of this game. In the last couple of weeks I’ve been playing a lot of ranked matched and I haven’t moved at all in the ranking system. The guy above me has a much worst record than I do  (1 loss and 0 wins compared to my 64 wins and 52 losses) so this is pretty annoying.  Apparently a guy who only played one game and lost it is better than me, even though I win the majority of games I play.

Mildly frustrating admittedly, but it does take away the point of having a leaderboard. When will they fix it? My guess is never as the bug is not well known. When I tell my friends about it they tell me I just haven’t played enough games, even though I try and explain the details.

I hate this bug. The leaderboards are fuxed. I’ve played around 200 matches and my rank never changes. The guy immediately above me has 0 wins and 3 loses. At this point the leaderboard is pointless… I hope a fix comes along…

I played a few games the other night and found out that I had my rightful place in the leaderboards. Seems its hit and miss now, but if I was to play another game the bug would be back.

A public announcement was made that people who disconnect will get a loss in both this game and SF4. My record for SSF2THDR is 36-5, but it should actually be 39-2. Three of those losses the other player disconnected before I was about to win (the other player hosted in all cases). Probably pulled out the cable, unplugged the router, etc. For some reason I’ve gotten losses in these situations, and my rank has plummeted as a result. It was over 2600, and now it’s under 1200. Not a big deal since online rankings don’t mean much, especially to people who play in live (in person) tournaments.

I just hope SF 4 is better! My copy is in the post today!
